Many impressive practical results have been obtained, which allow complex properties to be proved or checked in a fully or semi-automatic way, even in the context of complex software developments. In parallel, the techniques to design and implement static analysis tools have improved significantly, and much effort is being put into engineering the tools. This workshop is intended to promote discussions and exchange experience between specialists in all areas of program analysis design and implementation, and users of static analysis tools. SCOPE ----- The technical program of TAPAS 2015 will consist of invited lectures together with presentations based on submitted abstracts. We welcome presentations on all aspects of program analysis tools including, but not limited to the following: - design and implementation of static analysis tools to check, prove or infer properties (including practical techniques used for obtaining precision and performance); - components and other reusable infrastructure of static analysis tools (front-ends, abstract domains, solvers, analysis algorithms, frameworks, etc.); - integration of static analyzers (in proof assistants, test generation tools, IDEs, etc.); - experience reports on the use of static analyzers (both research prototypes and industrial tools); - challenges for static analysis tools, such as new properties to address or bottlenecks to overcome; - usability of static analysis tools (including user interfaces and other tools helping to exploit static analysis results); and - tool demonstrations, and comparisons, by tool authors or experienced users. The postdoc will be part of the research project "Automatic Support for Proving Confluence Modulo Equivalence for Constraint Handling Rules", funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research/Natural Science. The project takes place in the research group PLIS: Programming, Logic and Intelligent Systems, and is lead by prof. Henning Christiansen. The research group consists of eight experienced researchers in these fields, working in both core Computer Science and a variety of interdisciplinary projects. This project extends previous research on confluence modulo equivalence (CME) for the programming language of Constraint Handling Rules (CHR), which is an example of a rule based computation paradigm, for which parallel implementations and optimizations based on application order are relevant. CME was only recently suggested for CHR, and the results so far are promising for wider applications. The present project has focus on developing (semi-) automatic support for proving the CME property of actual programs. Read more about the project at http://www.ruc.dk/~henning/ConfModEqCHR/ and the research group at http://plis.ruc.dk. If you want more information, please do not hesitate to write to prof. Henning Christiansen, henning at ruc.dk. The successful candidate is expected to * participate in the continued development of the theoretical foundations for CME and proofs of CME for CHR (and perhaps extensions to similar paradigms) with an aim towards practically relevant methods, * be the main software developer for the implementation and test of such methods, including to take part in the considerations of which tools and strategies should be used, and * participate in documenting the results in terms of scientific paper and presentations at international fora. Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent within Computer Science. Qualifications within the following scientific areas are required: * A strong knowledge of programming languages semantics and mathematical logic is essential, and excellent programming skills are expected. * A solid knowledge of (term) rewriting systems, proof theory and experience with Constraint Handling Rules are highly desirable. Application deadline: September 30, 2015 How to apply: Applications must refer to the full text of the announcement and must be submitted via the online application system. In KRR a fundamental assumption is that an agent's knowledge is explicitly represented in a declarative form, suitable for processing by dedicated reasoning engines. This assumption, that much of what an agent deals with is knowledge-based, is common in many modern intelligent systems. Consequently, KRR has contributed to the theory and practice of various areas in AI, such as automated planning and natural language understanding, among others, as well as to fields beyond AI, including databases, software engineering, the semantic web, computational biology, and the development of software agents. The KR conference series is the leading forum for timely in-depth presentation of progress in the theory and principles underlying the representation and computational management of knowledge. We solicit papers presenting novel results on the principles of KRR that clearly contribute to the formal foundations of relevant problems or show the applicability of results to implemented or implementable systems. We welcome papers from other areas that show clear use of, or contributions to, the principles or practice of KRR. We also encourage "reports from the field" of applications, experiments, developments, and tests. Such papers should be explicitly identified as reports from the field by the authors, to ensure appropriate reviewing, and must include a section on evaluation. TOPICS ------ Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * Argumentation * Belief change: revision and update, belief merging, etc. * Commonsense reasoning * Contextual reasoning * Description logics * Diagnosis, abduction, explanation * Inconsistency- and exception- tolerant reasoning, paraconsistent logics * KR and autonomous agents: multi-agent systems, cognitive robotics, agent models * KR and data management, data analytics * KR and decision making, game theory, social choice * KR and machine learning, inductive logic programming, knowledge discovery and acquisition * KR and natural language processing * KR and the Web, Semantic Web * Logic programming, answer set programming, constraint logic programming * Nonmonotonic logics, default logics, conditional logics * Ontology formalisms and models * Philosophical foundations of KR * Preferences: modeling and representation, preference-based reasoning * Reasoning about action and change: action languages, situation calculus, causality * Reasoning about knowledge and belief, dynamic epistemic logic, epistemic and doxastic logics * Reasoning systems and solvers, knowledge compilation * Spatial reasoning and temporal reasoning, qualitative reasoning * Uncertainty, representations of vagueness, many-valued and fuzzy logics SUBMISSION INFORMATION Submissions must be original, and should not have been previously published, accepted for publication, or currently be under review. Authors may not submit their paper elsewhere during the KR 2016 reviewing period. These considerations apply only to journals and conferences, and not to workshops and forums with a limited audience and without archival proceedings. In case of doubt, please contact the Program Chairs. Papers must be submitted in AAAI style and PDF format. The maximum length of a submission is 9 pages including abstract, figures, and appendices (if any) but excluding references. Reviewing will be non-blind. The old town is nice, and the conference is only 20 minutes walking away. TABLEAUX 2015: Tableaux methods offer a convenient and flexible set of tools for automated reasoning in classical logic, extensions of classical logic, and a large number of non-classical logics. For large groups of logics, tableaux methods can be generated automatically. Areas of application include verification of software and computer systems, deductive databases, knowledge representation and its required inference engines, teaching, and system diagnosis. The conference series aims to bring together researchers interested in all aspects of tableaux - theoretical foundations, applications, and implementation techniques. FroCoS 2015: In various areas of computer science, such as logic, computation, program development and verification, artificial intelligence, knowledge representation, and automated reasoning, there is an obvious need for using specialized formalisms and inference systems for selected tasks. To be usable in practice, these specialized systems must be combined with each other and integrated into general purpose systems. This has led---in many research areas---to the development of techniques and methods for the combination and integration of dedicated formal systems, as well as for their modularization and analysis. The International Symposium on Frontiers of Combining Systems (FroCoS) traditionally focusses on these types of research questions and activities. Like its predecessors, FroCoS 2015 seeks to offer a common forum for research in the general area of combination, modularization, and integration of systems, with emphasis on logic-based ones, and of their practical use. Early Registration: Early registration costs 1200 PLN (292 euro, 330 US dollar). That's a bargain! Travel Awards: There are some travel awards for young researchers (students/PhD students/postdocs), sponsored by Springer Verlag. application deadline is September 1st. This year, BADGERS will be collocated with RAID 2015 in Kyoto, Japan, in the first week of November. The workshop is scheduled for November 5, 2015. In contrast to the systems community, security researchers have only recently started collecting and looking at Internet-scale, real-world data (e.g., the EU WOMBAT and the US PREDICT initiatives). Experimental security analysis performed on such data is often hampered by concerns such as confidentiality, privacy, and liability. However attackers have become experts in leveraging the whole Internet to achieve their goals. To understand the modus operandi and the motivations of attackers, both the access to Internet-scale, real-world data and the techniques to mine it for relevant security knowledge are necessary. Hence there is a growing need to widen the scope of data-driven security analysis. The BADGERS workshop is positioned at the confluence of computer security and general purpose large-scale data processing and aims at bringing together people (e.g., researchers, practitioners, system administrators, security analysts) active in the emerging domain of security-related data collection and analysis for Internet-scale computer systems and networks. By giving visibility to existing solutions, the workshop promotes and encourages the better sharing of data and knowledge. The increasing availability of tools and techniques to process large-scale data (aka Big Data) will benefit computer security. Important Dates ------------------------------------ * Submission due: Sep 15, 2015 * Acceptance notification: Oct 15, 2015 * Workshop date: Nov 5, 2015 * Camera-ready due: Nov 26, 2015 At the workshop, the preliminary versions of the accepted papers will be available at the workshop website. After the workshop, the camera-ready manuscripts will be collected to be published as the official proceedings. Topics of Interest ------------------------------------ The BADGERS workshop seeks contributions in all areas related to Big Data for security, including the following: * Scalable data collection from networks, hosts, or applications * Real-time gathering and aggregation of diverse sets of raw data * Summarization of raw data with respect to security goals * Attack-resilient data collection * Characterization of dataset external validity * Scalability of security analysis with data volume * Scalability of security analysis with concurrent-attack volume * Combined historical and real-time security analysis * Evaluation of result accuracy for large datasets * Design of realistic large-scale testbeds * Real-time, incremental anonymization for data sharing * Successful, failed, and novel models of data sharing * Sharing of analysis results and supporting data * Internet-scale sharing of security intelligence * Legal issues of data collection and sharing We especially encourage novel and controversial ideas that are not on the above list. Our goal is to create through BADGERS a venue for fruitful discussion about Big Data for security. Submission Formats ------------------------------------ Conference proceedings are planned to be published by IEEE/CPS. Please use the IEEE/CPS Conference Templates to prepare your submission: http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html Submitted papers should be up to 12 pages excluding bibliography and well-marked appendices, and should not exceed 16 pages including bibliography and appendices.
