1951 - 2011: 60 years of DEONTIC LOGIC

Special issue of Journal of Logic and Computation, corner on Deontic
Logic and Normative Systems

Paper Submission Deadline: *September 1, 2011*

http://deonticlogic.org/

With his seminal paper ``deontic logic'' published in Mind in 1951, Von
Wright launched the area of deontic logic. It is the field of logic that
is concerned with obligation, permission, and related concepts.

We invite papers concerned with the logical study of normative
reasoning, including formal systems of deontic logic, defeasible
normative reasoning, the logic of action, and other related areas of
logic, and the formal analysis of normative concepts and normative systems.

We also invite applications of deontic logic and normative systems to,
for example, the formal specification of aspects of norm-governed
multi-agent systems and autonomous agents, including the representation
of rights, authorisation, delegation, power, responsibility and
liability, the formal specification of normative systems for the
management of bureaucratic processes in public or private
administration, applications of normative logic to the specification of
database integrity constraints, security and privacy, and normative
aspects of protocols for communication, negotiation and multi-agent
decision making.
