The European Agent Systems Summer School (EASSS) offers a rich programme 
of both introductory and advanced courses on a broad range of topics in 
the area of Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems. Within this 
context, the Student Session is designed as a special programme to 
present students with a conference-like setup, both in the presentation 
and in the review process. This means that students will have the 
opportunity to prepare their own submission which will be then peer 
reviewed. Students whose papers are accepted get the opportunity to 
present their work and interests to their fellow students as well as 
internationally leading experts in the agent field, both from the 
theoretical and the practical sector.

EASSS attracts about a hundred students each year. The school provides a 
wide range of state-of-the-art courses given by the most prominent 
researchers in the area. A typical course lasts 3.5 hours and is broad 
enough to provide a general introduction to the chosen topics and covers 
the most important contributions in depth. The success of the summer 
school series is essential not only for the mutual benefit of research 
groups, but also in forming future generations of researchers to 
maintain the excellence of agents research and development in Europe.

EASSS aims to offer a valuable forum for knowledge exchange between 
various research groups in its field for the benefit of students and 
researchers at both beginner and advanced level. Therefore, the Student 
Session is designed to encourage student interaction and feedback from 
the tutors. All accepted papers will be assigned a 15-20 minute slot for 
presentation. Typically a presentation will either detail the intended 
approach to a problem or ask a specific question, directed at the 
audience. In addition, all students will be given the opportunity to 
present their work in the form of a poster that will be displayed at 
EASSS'13. The competitive elements that are often found in conferences 
(e.g. best paper award, best presentation award) are intentionally 
omitted. The goal is to provide speakers with constructive feedback and 
to introduce them to the community.

The peer review will not focus on the research contributions of the 
presented material, but rather on the clarity of the formulated material 
and whether or not the posed question is relevant to the majority of the 
students. Giving a good presentation is a difficult task. One of the 
benefits of the student session is the opportunity it offers to practise 
this skill. The extent to which the audience has understood the details 
should be the criterion by which the presentations are judged.

Submission Details

- Topics are not limited but they should fall with the scope of the 
subject areas covered by EASSS'13 Summer School.

- Papers should describe students' works.

- Only students can be authors, supervisors are however strongly 
encouraged to motivate their students to participate and supervise the 
quality of their work.

- At least one of the authors will have to register as a participant at 
either
