EvoENERGY 2018, 4 - 6 April, Parma, Italy

The EvoENERGY track is part of EvoApplications, the European Conference
on the Applications of Evolutionary Computation
(http://www.evostar.org/), to be held in Parma, Italy.

INTRODUCTION

Along with the worldwide efforts to reduce fossil and nuclear based power
generation, the number of distributed generators and other forms of
distributed energy resources has been steadily increasing over the years.
imposing challenges on their operation.

The transformation requires new control and
communication approaches to guarantee a stable, economical, and ecologically friendly
supply. System and control optimization has an important part to play for
the development of a smart energy grid.

EvoENERGY is as a platform for new, innovative computational
intelligence and nature-inspired techniques in the domain of energy-related
optimization. We seek contributions in the field described above with an emphasis
on heuristic optimization methods and adaptive learning strategies.

TOPICS

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- feature selection and generation for energy prediction
- real-time configuration and optimization of system components
- adaptive and learning smart grid agents
- morphological optimization of components like wind turbine blades
- grid planning and asset management

PUBLICATION AND SUBMISSION DETAILS

Accepted papers will appear in the proceedings of EvoStar, published in a
volume of the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science, which will be
available at the Conference. Based on reviewers’ assessment, accepted full
papers will be presented as full length talks, and authors of accepted short
papers will present a short talk as well as present a poster. All authors of
accepted papers will be given the opportunity to further disseminate their
work in poster sessions.

Submissions must be original and not published elsewhere. The submissions
will be peer reviewed by at least three members of the program committee.
The authors of accepted papers will have to improve their paper on the
basis of the reviewers comments and will be asked to send a camera ready
version of their manuscripts. At least one author of each accepted work has
to register for the conference and attend the conference and present the
work. The reviewing process will be double-blind, please omit information
about the authors in the submitted paper.

Submission format: Springer LNCS
