within the Artificial and Natural Intelligence Toulouse Institute

several Ph.D. and postdoctoral positions. Areas of interest include, but 
are not limited to :

  * Knowledge Compilation
  * Discrete Optimization by Local Search
  * Model Checking
  * Complexity Theory
  * Pac Learning

with applications to

  * Product Configuration
  * Satellite Design
  * Automotive and Aerospace
  * Planning and Routing
  * Recommendation systems

The subject could be adjusted according to the candidate's profile. 
Ongoing positions are :

  * Knowledge Compilation for Incomplete Combinatorial Optimization
    Techniques (Ph. D position)
  * Constraint compilation : A study on Satellite Design (CIFRE Ph. D
    position, cosupervision with Airbus DS and Altran)
  *  From Machine Learning to Knowledge Compilation and Back
    (postdoctoral position)
  * Approximate Compilation for Preference and Likelihood Models
    (postdoctoral position)

The monthly gross salaries are 2600 euros for a Ph.D. position and start 
from 3500 euros for a postdoctoral position. The positions come with 
health insurance and other social benefits.

Prospective applicants should have a strong mathematical background 
(probability & statistics, optimization, etc.), good scientific 
programming skills and good communication skills in English, both 
written and oral, with particular interests in one or several 
aforementioned disciplines.
