GENERAL INFORMATION

The RuleML+RR Doctoral Consortium 2022 is an initiative of the RuleML+RR
community to attract and promote student research in Artificial
Intelligence, especially research on rule-based formalisms and
reasoning. It offers students close contact with leading experts in the
field, as well as the opportunity to present and discuss their ideas in
a dynamic and friendly setting. This DC is organized as part of
Declarative AI 2022: Rules, Reasoning, Decisions, and Explanations
(Berlin, 26-30 September 2022).

We invite PhD students at an early or intermediate stage of their PhD
studies as well as exceptional Master’s students who are interested in
pursuing a PhD to submit papers describing their research on any of the
topics of interest to RuleML+RR 2022.

SUBMISSION

RuleML+RR DC papers are limited to 8 pages written in English following
the CEUR-WS.org style template CEURART available at
http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-XXX/CEURART.zip and submitted electronically in
PDF format jointly with a maximum 2 pages CV (as one PDF file). Please
submit your paper and the above required documents via:

     https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=declarativeai22

via the RuleML+RR Doctoral Consortium 2022 track. If you do not have an
EasyChair account, please sign up at https://easychair.org.

Since Easychair only accepts one file for the submission, applicants can
put all the above required documents in one PDF file. If the paper gets
accepted, then the applicant will only submit the paper for publication
in the proceedings.

The submission should cover the following aspects:
  - A clear formulation of the research question and the motivation.
  - An identification of the significant problem in the field of research.
  - An outline of the current knowledge of the problem domain, as well
as the state of existing solutions.
  - A presentation of any preliminary ideas, the proposed approach and
the results achieved so far.
  - A sketch of the applied research methodology and its positioning in
the field.
  - A description of the student project’s contribution to the problem
solution.
  - A discussion of how the suggested solution is different, new, or
better as compared to existing approaches to the problem.
  - A research plan and the potential achievements.
  - The accepted DC papers will be presented to an interested audience
and will be discussed with a panel of senior researchers from academia
and the industry. Students will present their work through brief oral
presentations during a dedicated session of RuleML+RR.

PUBLICATION

Accepted papers will be published online as part of http://ceur-ws.org
Proceedings, which are broadly indexed, e.g., by SCOPUS and listed in
standard bibliographic databases such as DBLP.
