San Antonio, USA, March 15–18, 2027

Technically Co-sponsored by IEEE Lone Star Section.

Important: Selected papers will be invited to the Q1 Journals.

Conference Scope

The International Conference on Next-generation Gaming and Entertainment
Systems (NGES 2027) explores how intelligent, immersive, and connected
technologies are transforming gaming and interactive entertainment. Under
the theme “Immersive Play & Intelligent Worlds,” NGES 2027 welcomes
research on innovative systems, engaging player experiences, AI-driven
content, creative practices, accessibility, fairness, player well-being,
and the cultural impact of emerging entertainment technologies.

The conference features two complementary tracks: Systems, Engines &
Immersive Technologies and Play Experience, Culture & Entertainment
Ecosystems, bringing together technical innovation and human-centered
perspectives. Cross-disciplinary and cross-track contributions are strongly
encouraged.

Main Track 1 – Systems, Engines & Immersive Technologies

This track focuses on the engineering foundations of next-generation gaming
and entertainment, including game engines, rendering, simulation,
networking, XR platforms, and AI-driven pipelines. It welcomes innovations
that enable richer virtual worlds, lower latency, intelligent content
creation, and scalable shared experiences across devices and immersive
platforms.

Main Track 2 – Play Experience, Culture & Entertainment Ecosystems

This track explores the human, creative, and societal dimensions of
next-generation gaming and entertainment, including player experience, game
design, communities, esports, and creative practices. It welcomes research
examining how immersive and intelligent technologies shape engagement,
inclusion, identity, well-being, and the evolving cultural and industrial
ecosystems of entertainment.

NGES 2027 welcomes researchers and practitioners from games research,
computer graphics, HCI, AI/ML, XR, networking, multimedia, design, media
studies, and industry. Whether your work advances engines and platforms or
deepens understanding of play and entertainment culture, we invite you to
contribute systems, evidence, design, and critique that shape the next
generation of interactive worlds.
