  European Conference on Logics in Artificial Intelligence (JELIA)

           Call for Proposals for Hosting JELIA 2010


The European Conference on Logics in Artificial Intelligence (or
Journees Europeennes sur la Logique en Intelligence Artificielle -
JELIA) began back in 1988, as a workshop, in response to the need for
a European forum for the discussion of emerging work in the
field. Since then, JELIA has been organised biennially, with English
as official language, and with proceedings published in
Springer-Verlag's Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence. The
increasing interest in this forum, its international level with
growing participation from researchers outside Europe, and the overall
technical quality, has turned JELIA into a major biennial forum for
the discussion of logic-based approaches to Artificial Intelligence.

The next edition of JELIA will be held in 2010, most likely in
September. Thus, the JELIA Steering Committee invites proposals for
hosting JELIA 2010. Such proposals are due by 24th September 2009, and
should include:

  - Location (accessibility, conference venue, hotels, ...)
  - Local Arrangements (chairs, committee, ...)
  - Financial Aspects (sponsors, registration fees, ...)
  - Local Logic/AI Community
  - Proposed Date for JELIA 2010
  - Publishing arrangements (publication of proceedings in LNAI, ...)
  - Information on co-located events, e.g. Summer Schools
  - Highlight the main advantages of the proposal

The proposals will be evaluated by the JELIA Steering Committee with
notification planned for October 2009 at the latest.  We would welcome
an early indication that you are planning to prepare such a proposal.
